Our Outreach Projects

The Hope Center

The BGMA Hope Center is a cooperative venture between many different denominations in the Bowling Green area. The Hope Center provides assistance to residents by means of food, clothing, and other household supplies. Volunteers and donations are always welcome. We support this community outreach with a monthly monetary donation from the church, supply contributions from individual members, and volunteer workers from the congregation.

Youth Group Can Collection

The Youth Group collects aluminum cans that are sold to support the purchase of underclothing for children in the community (as distributed by The Hope Center).

Bear Ministry

Teddy bears can be seen sitting in the very back pew of our sanctuary. Each bear is holding a card. People are welcome to take a bear and deliver it to anyone (child or adult) who is in the hospital or homebound with an illness or injury. The cards contain words of encouragement to let the person know that our prayers are with them during this time in their life. Sometimes it is nice to have a tangible reminder that people care -- the bears are a "holdable" reminder of that.

Ready in 3 Pamphlets

We are currently distributing these booklets on disaster preparedness at community and congregational events. It is our goal to make this information available to as many people in our community as possible.

Kids in Motion

We applied for and received a grant from the Disciples of Christ that allowed us to sponsor one youth in the Kids in Motion program.
